The Grounds at Tidwell Manor
Built in 1725, as a Gentleman's residence, this grand country house is set in two acres of formal gardens and Tidwell B & B revels in large lawns with tall and ancient spreading trees.

The mellow walls divide the garden into different moods. The main lawn is a beautiful setting for the house and our huge trees provide a stunning backdrop.

The East Devon Area
This corner of East Devon is steeped in history. The famous Elizabethan mariner Sir Walter Raleigh was born in nearby East Budleigh, and Samuel Taylor Coleridge was born further inland at Ottery St. Mary. On the Exe estuary you will find Topsham with its characteristic Dutch architectural influence, and every year the renowned Sidmouth International Folk Festival takes place about five miles away.

Lying less than a mile from the seafront at Budleigh Salterton, Tidwell Manor offers B and B in the relaxing East Devon countryside amidst an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. From our two acres of garden there is direct access to public footpaths that lead to open common land with river and woodland walks, and to the nearby path following the Jurassic Coast - a World Heritage site - from Exmouth to Lyme Regis, (a firm favourite for walkers).

Bowls, croquet, golfing, sailing, fishing, horse riding, walking, bird watching are just a few of the outdoor pursuits to be found in the area.

If the hustle and bustle of city life is what attracts you, the historic Cathedral city of Exeter lies around 10 miles away, while the charming unspoilt coastal towns of Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth, and Sidmouth are within easy reach.
